ATK Successfully Conducts NASA Ares I-X Separation Test
The test simulated the separation required to release the main parachutes, following the first stage flight of Ares I-X. The exercise demonstrated that the linear-shaped charge created a clean severance, and it measured the shock created by the charge. continued
