Francis Faces More Community Service After L.A. Fed Court Sentencing
LOS ANGELES – On Monday, a Los Angeles U.S. District Court judge sentenced Mantra Films Inc. and “Girls Gone Wild” founder Joe Francis to 200 hours of community service, in addition to two years probation and a $500,000 fine, for his role in failing to document the ages of young women who appeared in his famous “Girls Gone Wild” videos. The fine was originally announced on Sept. 12, 2006 as part of a plea deal with federal courts in Los Angeles and Panama City, Fla.

Women Read More Direct Mail Than E-Mail Advertising
BALTIMORE – A new study released by Vertis Communications has found that 85 percent of women between the ages of 25-44 read printed direct mail advertising, despite the increase of electronically distributed advertisements. The study also finds that 54 percent of women surveyed who have access to E-mail read the E-mail advertisements, consistent with the results of the prior year’s survey.

Survey Finds Telecommuters Less Likely to Advance Than Office Peers
LOS ANGELES – Employees who work from home are less likely to get promoted than their peers who go to the office daily, according to a new study that surveyed 1,300 executives. The survey was released on Jan. 16 by the Los Angeles-based executive search firm Korn/Ferry International.

ENCINO, Calif. — On Jan. 17, the Inter/Media Group announced the addition of two new companies to its group of businesses — Inter/Media Interactive and InterQuantum Inc.
